Sherlock Series 3 Premiere in Less Than a Month!

Any fans of the BBC television show, Sherlock? All Benedict Cumberbatch fans should be raising their hands right now. Brace yourselves for the kick-off of series 3 set to premiere on January 1st! What an amazing start to a new year indeed! We've known since the last episode of the second series at the very end that he survived his 'suicide' when he jumped off the hospital roof. Not much has been revealed to us through the trailer but we do know that protagonist Sherlock Holmes obviously comes back along with his assistant/flatmate, Dr. John Watson. We are led to believe that Irene Adler, known as the woman who beat Sherlock, will make her appearance again. Get ready for a series full of crime-solving action! Sherlock will once again amaze us with his profound intellect.
Benedict Cumberbatch is the man.

Walking Dead Mid Season Finale- Them Feels...

Hey all you Muggles! As all of you zombie fans should know, last night was AMC's Walking Dead season 4 mid-season finale. I promise, I won't be too spoiling for those who have not seen it. I do feel obligated to warn you, brace yourselves for them 'feels'. I had to turn my bedroom lights off, sit in a corner, and rock back and forth while hugging my knees, crying hysterically. Of course, I'm just an overemotional psycho when it comes to these things.
If you're familiar with Game of Thrones, you should have seen me after the Red Wedding. I needed weeks of relentless video game therapy.
Anywhom, this suspenseful episode definitely had me on my toes. Drama, emotion, and of course, violence plagued the plot. We are left with the pounding question- what next?
January has never seemed so far away.
I think I might go cry some more.

Xbox one release! My top 3 Next Gen game must-haves.

Ermargherd, the Xbox One is now out! To all of you who now have proud ownership of this fantastic next generation gaming console, congrats. I don't mean to choose a favorite between my children, but I am loving the Xbox One so far in comparison to the PS4! (despite the 720p vs. 1080p problem). Microsoft has once again, won over my heart.
Here are my top three purchases for the xbox one and why:

1). Dead Rising 3
I'm a zombie-slaying addict. The Walking Dead comics and even the show, it's amazing. Resident evil 5 and Last of Us were my favorite zombie video games leading up to this moment in time. Dead Rising 3 is the most amazing zombie game I've ever played. When it comes to killing zombies, I go for two things: Creativity & Quantity. This game, like the other Dead Rising games, allows me to kill with creativity. Only now, the creativity expands because you play the game as engineer which means forging your own weapons and machines without a workbench.
Quantity is a big part of the game. Basically, there are zombies on the screen at all time. Right in the beginning of the game we are introduced to a massive horde of zombies. We're talking about 1,000 zombies on the screen at a time. Oh yeah. This game is a zombie slayer's heaven.

2.) My next game must have is Assassin's Creed Black Flag. I've always been an Assassin's Creed fan. It's my favorite video game series! Some might argue that it's loosing it's flavor but I have to disagree. This new Assassin's Creed is a much more open-world game with many more new features added to it. I love exploring in my games, and here is a fantastic game for that! Not to mention the fact that I get to freaking harpoon sharks.

3.) Now finally, my third must-have is Battlefield 4. This is a game that applaud. It was so beautifully composed for the next gen. The graphics are incredible and the Levolution makes this game perfectly compatible to our beloved new consoles. It really just flushes COD Ghosts down the toilet. Now see ya  guys, I'm going to go blowup a skyscraper in Siege of Shanghai.

I was told by a muggle-girl on my second day back to college that you aren't a real nerd unless you play Black Ops, Nazi Zombies 24/7.
What did I learn this week?
I hate everyone -_-

Release date of Xbox One.

The Xbox One release date has been announced to be November 22, the Sunday before Black Friday. Yes folks, between the releases of the PS4, Xbox One, and Black Friday, I foresee November being a month of bloodshed and riots. May the best of men survive.
Word of advice: pre-order yourself a next generation console, don't wait for them to hit the stores.

FALL 2013 VIDEO GAME MUST-HAVES.

Hey guys! Today I just want to talk about some of the games that will be released in the near future. It looks like it’s going to be another great year for games. With the upcoming release of the Xbox one and the PS4, I can guarantee we are all going to be reaching the New Year as broke as ever. But happy! So here are some games that I am planning on purchasing.

Starting at the beginning of the timeline, my first buy of this fall season will be Young Justice: Legacy. I am a huge fan of DC comics and I love the Justice League. The show Young Justice is pretty good, which is why this game spiked my interest.

Next, and as a Marvel Comics gal, I cannot contain my excitement for this, is LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes. I am a sucker for all LEGO video games. They only seem to be getting better. LEGO’s more recent Lord of the Rings video game has completely set the bar for me. I feel they have come a long way as far as character development and the distinction of each adventure they take us on. You can say I have high expectations for this LEGO game. They have included over a hundred Marvel characters including of course, our favorites and the most popular of the X-men and Avengers.  The trailers have me counting down the days until the release date.

A video game that I just recently read about called Rain also caught my eye. Rain is about an invisible world filled with lost spirits that is exposed only during rainfall. In this game you play the role of a boy who stumbles into this world by mistake, becoming invisible himself, and has to find his way out. I was really intrigued by this game while reading about it, the plot is unique and it’s just not my everyday video game.

Now let’s talk about my favorite video game trilogy. I know I’m not the only one who can hardly wait for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Pirates of the Caribbean meets Assassin’s Creed in this sea-struck game set in 1715. From what I've seen so far, I’m in love all over again. I just find these games so captivating. Maybe I’m just a ruthless assassin at heart. Not to mention the parkour in these games are off the chain. Overall, I’m pretty excited to see how this game differentiates from the others.

I don’t think I’ve ever died more in a video game than I do in this, but another Battlefield (Battlefield 4) is going to be released October 29th, as you probably already know (Which just happens to be the same release date as Assassin’s Creed). I really do die so much more in these games than any other video game I’ve ever played. Yet, I still can’t help but dish out $60 to go through the same frustration that I face in every Battlefield.

Last but hopefully not least, Call of Duty 5: Ghosts. Here’s to hoping the campaign turnout doesn’t suck as bad Black Ops2.

Jessica Danae Miller: Future career at IGN?

Hey bloggers! So recently I've taken action on my dream of landing a job at IGN. How long have I wanted to work there? Years and years. Basically, since I've discovered it. However, I've only started my research just recently. I can't just go around photographing myself licking video game consoles and remote controllers. That won't show how dedicated I am nor would it earn me much respect. Buckle up bloggers, I'm cracking down on my number of posts each week. You can expect quite a few reviews from me. If course, the first few will most likely be crap until I get the feel for things. I'm going to show IGN how dedicated, passionate, and worth hiring I am.

Zombie Apocalypse. Are you prepared?

Hey you! Yes, you! Do YOU have a plan for the zombie apocalypse? I hope so. Everyone should have at least two plans. A good habit you should get into is devising a plan everywhere you go. Shopping trip at Walmart? What if it went viral while you're putting a loaf of bread in your shopping cart. Getting a haircut? You'd better have a plan! Zombies with scissors are horrifying. A trip to an amusement park? You're probably screwed but you still need a plan. Also, I would start stocking up on weapons for the zombie apocalypse. Weapons and supplies. Here's a list of what you may want to acquire:
Water bottles
Travel size medical pack
Snacks that won't expire
A source of light
A source of warmth
A knife
Baseball bat
Katana
Bow & Arrows
Battle ax
M16
Companions.

Squirrel Girl: Better than credited

Come on guys, give Doreen Green more credit here. Sure, her name and abilities don't sound all that great, but really. She is one of my favorite female heroes and can be surprisingly effective in combat. Let's not forget who she has defeated:
Wolverine,
Deadpool,
Doctor Doom,
Mandarin,
The list goes on. I guess her buck teeth, claws, tail, retractable knuckle spikes, and her ability to communicate with squirrels isn't that lame after all...

Are you guys about to start your new school year? Going into your first semester of college? I recommend getting school supplies from amazon.com. I got a pretty cool load this year for my second year of college. For starters, I got a Marvel Avengers lunchbox and some pretty great Marvel folders. I also picked up notebooks, pencils, and even duct tape, all Marvel Avengers. To top it off, I got a vintage 20 inch Marvel Comic backpack. Best $65 ever spent.

The Conjuring: Review

Hey there! I just got back from seeing The Conjuring and felt an extreme need to share my thoughts. I am a horror movie enthusiast, but I will admit, 99% of all scary movies are plot-less and would be tremendously awful if it weren't for the thrill and suspense. Let me tell you folks, this movie was brilliantly made (for a scary movie). The plot wasn't all that bad. On top of that, from about 15 minutes into the movie until the very ending, it has you on your toes, nearly about to explode with all of the suspense. It wasn't totally predictable and the note it ended on didn't make you completely want to kill yourself with a 10 gage shotgun to the face like every other scary movie. Overall, I give it a 9.0 rating. Well done.

Dear She-Nerd fakers...

If you are an average or above average looking female who puts on a pair of non-prescription square-framed glasses and call yourself a nerd when it is evident you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, please relocate to the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy. Seriously.
Recently, there's been an infestation of Nerd Girl Posers(NGP). You pretend to know to all of this stuff about "gaming" and "comics". You've played Nazi Zombies with your ex? Wow, you must be a pro now. What... you've seen the Avengers and Batman: The Dark Night Rises? You must be a true comic nerd! So can you tell me who Robert Reynolds is?
NPGs are detracting from the true nerd girls who have been outcasts and devoted their life to some form of nerdiness. Whether it be video games, comics, intellect, technology: we deserve the credit. Not these pretty little 'hipster nerds' who just want another way to attract more attention from guys. Get over yourselves!

Could I love without video games? Absolutely not.
Any World Of Warcraft fans out there? What race are you? #DwarfPower
Do you think people walk all over you? Think about DeMarr Davis. Doorman's superpower was basically letting people walk right through him. Literally. It doesn't get much worse than that, folks.

Hey bloggers! I woke up this morning and watched the second released trailer for Thor: The Dark World. I am so stoked. All of the Avenger movies, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, have been marvelously created. Sure, I have my share of negative opinions to share, but the good far outweighs the bad. The actual Avengers movie is in my top 5 all time favorite movies. I was absolutely blown away by that movie. Not to mention Stan Lee's appearance in every Marvel movie alone should be enough to make you want to see this upcoming Thor movie. But that's all I got right now, I'm about to get out of bed and go scavenge for food.

Bonjour! Jessica here, now since this is my first official post, I want to share a little bit about myself. But I'll keep it short. The first thing I want to talk about is: you got it. Video Games. Video games represent a substantial part of my life. For me, video games were my portal to the realm of all things nerdy. It all started when I was seven years old and started playing Age of Empires Two and Warcraft. These two strategic PC games developed over a decade to over a hundred video games and five video game consoles. People say that those who spend half their life in front of a screen playing video games have "no lives" and are "losers". I beg to differ. Just because some of us chose to live our lives differently does not mean your life is any better than ours. Not to mention our intellectual level may be slightly higher than the average non-nerd. In my blog, I may mention non-nerds a lot. Let's create a word for them. How about we borrow a Scottish term that J.K. Rowling made know world wide. We will cal non-nerds muggles. Okay?
NON-NERD FOLK=MUGGLES.
Where were we? Ah yes, video games. My tummy is clashing with thunder right now so I'm going to cut this short to go find some Oreos. I'll end this post with a list of my favorite video games (in no particular order).

Assassin's Creed (All of them)
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Gears of War
Dead Space
Age of Empires
Lego Lord of the Rings
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Batman
Halo Reach
Mass Effect
Soul Calibur
Call of Duty
Half Life
Garry's Mod
Bioshock
Resident Evil 4
Skyrim
Warcraft
